The Spooky Tesla Spirit Radio’s sensitive antennas pick up on the RF emanations of the computer screen. The crystal circuit delivers an audio signal to the computer, where the software Audio Hijack Pro increases gain and alters the pitch in real time.

This screensaver example shows a journey across Hyperspace and back through Wormholes. All sounds are generated in real-time by the radio and software.

The Spooky Tesla Spirit Radio is an un-powered crystal radio that picks up the vibes of the Dancing Ghost, which has a simple homopolar motor that rotates it.

In this case, it is the world’s simplest radio detecting the world’s simplest electric motor!

The audio signal gets sent to the computer where Audio Hijack Pro software alters it in real time and we hear the spooky sounds.

Beta Blocker radios are designed as a meditational aid and normally do not produce sound. They contain a crystal radio circuit with a germanium diode and few other parts. The radio as it comes from Mr Gold is pre-tuned to assist certain brain frequencies, and is not meant to be hacked…

However, I soldered in an audio connector and ran it to my computer. I used real-time DSP (Digital Signal Processing) with Audio Hijack to produce the sounds you hear continuously in real time, without post-processing. The AuPitch control was used to produce the Worm-Hole Transporter effects in real time.

The pitch seems to control the apparent “altitude’ felt by a listener. Higher pitch seems “up”. Lower pitch seems “down”. Constant pitch yields a steady altitude, whether higher or lower.

More importantly, an upward CHANGE of pitch seems to produce the sensation of acceleration. (a downward pitch change produces somewhat dizzying deceleration!)

This sensing of acceleration is an indicator that one is moving from “one” location to “another” location, which is part of the fun of exploring Parallel Worlds!

DJ Assad, originaire de l’ile Maurice, a commencé sa carrière de DJ en 2000. DJ Assad mixe Hip Hop, Funk, Groove, Soul, il se démarque par son style et sa musicalité.
Une collaboration née avec son frère de musique, DJ Milouz avec qui il crée le “Royal Mix”.
DJ Assad débute en radio en 2002 auprès d’Antoine Baduel (PDG de FG DJ Radio) avec qui il lance le concept “Mixtape FG”, l’aventure dure 4 ans tous les samedis de 13h à 14h sur FG DJ Radio.
En 2006 c’est Fun Radio lui offrant carte blanche tous les samedis de 19h à 21h pour le « Royal Mix ».
Fin 2007, DJ Assad s’essaie a la production et co-produit le titre Everybody Clap avec Maradja. Le single réussi une entrée remarquée dans les classements Yacast club 40 et DJ Buzz. Aujourd’hui relayé par les radios : notons parmi elles Fun Radio, Voltage, FG DJ Radio, Radio Scoop, Vibration et bien d’autres…
En 2008, ils sortent le single, Summer Lovin suivit de Just Dance.
Et vers fin-2009, il sort un Nouveau Titre, For Your eyes, avec le chanteur Vincent Brasse.
