I believe the unit can be used as analog or digital. But digital is the way to go nowadays. Perhaps where you, there are not enough repeaters to support the necessary coverage area. As far as operation issues go, there are a lot of features in the programming software that you have to adjust. It just takes a lot of messing around with the software to figure everything out. And don’t ever call motorola tech support. 90% of them are idiots and don’t know anything about their own products.

i dislike digital. we have had nothing but issues in our area, from key up issues to dead zones and choppy digital squaks. we started back to analog bc of moto has no explanation. nice but alot of bugs need to be addressed.

it is programmable …
it is programmable depending on the radio. Ours turns on the scan function. when in circle, scan is on, circle with strike through, scan is off

Nice video. The only thing you’re incorrect about is that the dial on the top that surrounds the channel selector is not there to turn the light on. Once switched, it locks the keypad on the front of the unit
