Radio Ballet Leipzig Main station Part 1

Radio Performance in the Main station of Leipzig, Germany in June 2003 initiated by the radio artist group Ligna. Ligna invited radio listeners to participate in a “Radioballett”, to enter the station – an extensively surveilled and controlled space -, equipped with portable radios and headphones. By means of the radios they were able to listen to a choreography consiting of gestures and movements, that infringed the strict rules of the site. The performance, that lasted more than one hour, was officially forbidden by the german railway company. But as it took place everywhere at the same time, the company had no means to take action against the roundabout 400 participants of the intervention.
The first radio ballett took place in the main station of Hamburg one year earlier.
German with English subtitles.
