Motorola portable tube radio 1947 model 5A7A

Motorola 1947 portable radio found at the thirft store for 4.98. It payed when I purchased it, and I replaced the line cord. . This radio has a galvenized metal case and a bakelite front lid that houses the loopstick antenna. The radio shuts off when the lid is closed. It has a weatherproof speaker.

    No it doesn’t have a black face it is just the way the light was hitting it. It is aluminum the same as yours. I don’t have any batteries for it, I just operate it on AC.

    Rough, but all the tubes are ok.
    What did you use for batteries or was it “plugged in?
