How to change the frequency of a radio transmitter?

Posted by admin on March 2nd, 2010 and filed under radio | 2 Comments »

My radio doesn’t receive a signal from my radio transmitter, because it transmits at 900 MHZ; which is too high for a radio to receive.
I know i can just buy one, but this one has 300 ft range, and I LIKE MODIFYING THINGS myself.

SO, PLEASE HELP ME. AND MAKE IT SIMPLE.

    Websites with tutorials are appreciated.

What are you trying to do? Control an R/C car, boat or airplane? What is this transmitter? 900 MHz sounds like a public service two-way radio. However, these radios have more than a 300 ft range. A 300 ft range would sound like a R/C transmitter but there aren’t any that work at 900 MHz.

I will assume you are are trying to control an R/C thing-a-ma-jig. R/C receivers work at 27 MHz, 72 MHz, 75 MHz or 2.4 GHz. If your R/C transmitter works in the same band as your receiver, you can change crystals in both the receiver and/or transmitter, fairly easy.

If you like modifying radio gear, get an Amateur Radio (Ham) License. You are allowed to build, experiment with and modify all the radio gear you want! Hams also use their gear for R/C.

“Pirate Radio” – Official Trailer [HD]

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under radio | 25 Comments »

This film really captures the freedom spirit of the 60’s.
Coming to theaters on November 13, 2009.
Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Sturridge, Talulah Riley

Pirate Radio is the newest ensemble comedy from filmmaker Richard Curtis (screenwriter of Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, and writer/director of Love Actually), spinning the irreverent yet fact-based tale of a seafaring band of rogue rock and roll deejays whose pirate radio captivated and inspired 1960s Britain. Playing the music that rocked a nation and a decade, the group boldly and hilariously defies the government that tries to shut them down. Broadcasting live 24/7 from an old tanker anchored in the middle of the North Sea (just beyond British jurisdiction), Radio Rock sends out a vibrant and unifying signal to millions across the nation, ranging in age from wide-eyed pre-teens secretly tuning in long past their bedtimes to everyday people in need of a musical pick-me-up. The Radio Rock roster, overseen by unflappable station owner (and ships captain) Quentin (Bill Nighy), includes a risk-prone American known only as The Count (Philip Seymour Hoffman); mystic deejay royalty Gavin (Rhys Ifans); slyly amorous Dave (Nick Frost); idiosyncratic New Zealander Angus (Rhys Darby); the rarely seen Bob (Ralph Brown); the aptly named Thick Kevin (Tom Brooke); lovelorn Simon (Chris ODowd); ladies magnet Mark (Tom Wisdom); shy Harold (Ike Hamilton); reporter News John (Will Adamsdale); and lesbian ships cook Felicity (Katherine Parkinson). One night in 1966, Quentins teenaged godson Carl (Tom Sturridge) comes aboard. While Carl harbors romantic aspirations that he hopes will be fulfilled during one of the biweekly visits by Radio Rocks prettiest fans, he also hopes to find out more about his long-absent father As the ship sails on and rocks out, what Carl and the freewheeling, free-loving Radio Rock gang dont know is that back in London, landlocked government minister Dormandy (Kenneth Branagh) has embarked on a vehement crusade to silence their signal – permanently. To stay afloat and keep their devoted audience plugged in, the crew will have to band together and trust in the power of music like never before

Whats the difference between radio edition and normal edition in music?

Posted by admin on February 26th, 2010 and filed under radio | 2 Comments »

I want to buy a cd with my favorite song on it but it says its a radio edition and i don’t know if i should get it because i don’t know if there’s a difference between a radio edition or a normal version.
Is there a difference and if so what is it?

Radio versions are edited for language and (less commonly) for length.

When Radio Stations give out tickets for a concert, Are they usually good seats?

I won tickets for my sister to go see Britney Spears this March by calling in a radio station and naming the 5 songs they played. She is planning to buy extra tickets because she doesnt know if the ones I won from the radio station are good seats. Does anyone know? Anyone with expirience?

I had a friend who won tix twice and took me (Dave Matthews Band and 311), we had really good seats at both shows.

Buggles – Video killed the radio star 1979

I heard you on the wireless back in 52
lying awake intent a tuning in on you
if I was young it didn’t stop you coming through

They took the credit for your second symphony
re-written by machine and new technology
and now I understand the problems you can see

Oh oh — I met your children
oh oh — what did you tell them
    video killed the radio star
    video killed the radio star
pictures came and broke your heart
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far

And now we meet in an abandoned studio
we hear the playback and it seems so long ago
and you remember the jingle used to go

Oh oh — you were the first one
oh oh — you were the last one
    video killed the radio star
    video killed the radio star
in my mind and in my car
we can’t rewind we’ve gone too far
