What is the tone on railroad radios used for when the train calls the dispatcher? Also are train crews required to use radio pro-words (over,out, roger) when transmitting? Please let me know thank you.

They are the same tones you’d hear on a touch tone phone.We use different keypad numbers for different dispatchers.When you tone a dispatcher it lights up a light on his radio control box so he knows someone wants to talk to him.Some dispatchers might have 20 or 30 radio towers they use so they can’t monitor them all at the same time.His control box is a touch screen.When we tone him up all he has to do is touch the screen to activate the radio the tone was received on. And yes the FRA says we have to use certain radio procedures.We are always supposed to start a radio transmission with our train id such as the UP 4628 West.We don’t use roger and wilco and things like that but they do want to hear over and out used.

What a load of rubbish. Mark Daly was going to do a prog. for the BBC on the HOLLIE GREIG case, before he was stopped by the PTB. Now he spends his time criticising and finding fault with the case.
For the facts that are vehemently denied by the paedophiles/paedophile supporters pls see the facebook groups, of which there are 3 main ones, with thousands of members and growing daily, the leader being “Justice for Hollie Greig”, http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/Justice4Hollie?ref=ts also the name of the official site, with regular updates, as the facebook groups show too.There are many videos in my playlists about the case with Robert Green, Hollies lawyer,and David Icke too talking about paedophilia that is rampant within the Scottish govt.

16 hours ago Hollie was paid £13,500 compensation by the govt because the criminal abuse took place. The govt, do not give money away without a reason, as has been done in many other similar cases.. This is just 1 piece of solid evidence the paedophile supporters wish wasnt there, and just 1 of the reasons theres a gag order on the whole case to keep everything hush-hush.The gag order was instigated by a very high govt. official who has consistently lied also about things and theres solid proof of this too.

This is just a short video of me setting up a portable HF radio station. Since I had my cell phone with me, I decided to make a video of my setup. This video was not planned, so please excuse the cell phone video quality.

HF is still somewhat new to me because I upgraded to General in 2007. The hobby is just something I play around with on occasion. I’m not very active.

I got involved with Ham Radio for a last resort means of communication in the mountains. I have a 2 meter handheld that I carry while camping and hiking.
