I enjoy listening to just the audio parts of television shows. But,since we switched to digital to analog my radio doesn’t receive digital signals.Where can I buy a portable radio?
That sort of thing was common with analog TV because it was very easy to include the TV audio frequencies with any radio that had the FM broadcast band. Analog TV audio is also FM, so the additional parts in a set were minimal.
Not so with digital. You’d need a complete ATSC tuner, and you’d also need the same quality of antenna that’s required to receive video. Analog television audio was receivable with a simple whip antenna on a portable radio, but you need the full digital bitstream, with good signal strength, to capture digital TV audio.
For those reasons, manufacturers haven’t rushed to market digital TV audio radios. The production costs would be far too high and the demand for the product would be low.

For the past couple of mornings when I crank up my car the Sirius radio won’t work. It displays "Satellite radio fault". But when I’m leaving work (the 2nd crank up for the day) it works fine. What’s wrong with it?
You are probably not listening enough to Howard Stern and Fafafooey

Like lil wayne’s type of music, loud & crazy & fun to dance to. But not like songs that you hear on the radio. RAP! <3 but like pumpin rap.
types that you could play in your car & blast it.
NO Rap music ANYWHERE by ANYONE is good. It’s all the same crap made by crappy pieces of shit that think they’re people when really they’re nothing but ghetto rats trying to get attention. Trying to find rap music to "blast" is only going to make people hate you and wish you were dead.

I just got a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle and i can not figure out how to have my favorite radio stations set on the radio. The car did not come with the owners manual, and i tried pressing the Program button (while on my favorite radio stations) and then press the number "one" button and it went back to whatever station is set on "one" currently. I tried holding the buttons too. Please help! Thanks (:
PRESS AND HOLD UNTIL YOU HEAR A BEEP.
YOU CAN STORE 12 FM/AM STATIONS BY PRESSING FM/AM BUTTON TO ACCESS FM/AM ONE AND TWO.

I have a few old radios that have some insulation off of them. I don’t want to fire them up this way. Please, I need help.
If function is the only concern, all you have to do is ensure that you replace any wires with at least the same gauge or higher. That covers the current rating, which is a function of the conductor cross-section. Hardware store/home Depot wire is all 600V rated (except for the low-voltage doorbell wire, I think that’s 300V-rated). The voltage rating is a function of the insulation.
If you’re restoring and want identical wire, search around the web for antique radio repair/hardware sources, I think you can still find places that sell the more common vacuum tubes and cloth-covered wire.

My father-in-law is from Los Angeles and has recently moved here to Florida with me and my husband.
He does not speak english and wants me to find out how he can listen to his radio stations from back home. Is it possible to listen to his radio stations using satellite radio or another device?
Does his favorite station also broadcast over the internet?…. Many of them do…..
Look them up here…..

I’m talking about those devices that you see some people have in their cars where they can talk to each other over a frequency similar to cops with their radios and truckers.
Citizens Band radio
"CB radio"
